Sue Wallingford Art Box Memorial
About the Art Box Memorial:
In honor of Sue, we will be creating a permanent Art Memorial at Naropa made by community that learned from her and loved her. Transparent boxes (2×2 inches each) will be set side by side, creating a big grid. As small as they are, collectively the boxes can represent many of the people she has supported, guided, influenced, and loved, particularly though her 20 plus years as a professor at Naropa University. We anticipate the final product will be displayed at Naropa in 2023.
In 2022, we will have some opportunities for art making together in Boulder and Denver to complete and organize boxes. Sign up for announcements by subscribing (‘participate’)to this blog to join in community art making .
Also, in 2022 we hope to finalize the location and opening of the memorial.
How you can participate:
Decorate one or several art boxes!
- In Boulder, art boxes can be obtained from and be accepted by Beth Erlander: call/text 720-470-3513.
- In Denver, art boxes can be obtained from and accepted by Nancy Wolff: email her at wolffnancy@hotmail.com or call/text 303-554-5547.
- Outside the Denver/Boulder area, Art boxes can be mailed to you for decorating and returning. Email/call/text Nancy.
- You can mail art/materials to be placed in art boxes. Send to Nancy Wolff at 2850 Emporia Court, Denver, CO 80238
